Introducing our organic and vegan friendly Zafu made of AHIMSA (Peace Silk)

Offered in our Crème de Crème-a rich cream color. The Zafu is lined with organic muslin and organic buckwheat hulls.

The carry handle has our beautiful Zen Skye lotus label and Om jewel.

Peace silk is where the silkworm is not killed in the production of the silk. It is allowed to complete its life cycle, whereby it burrows through its cocoon, where the silk fibers are broken into smaller pieces. As a result, the weaving process of peace silk is done with shorter, non-continuous fibers, because the silk worm has burrowed through its cocoon thus breaking the continuous thread of silk.  Thus the beautiful texture of peace silk is created by weaving the shorter threads, giving it its 'knottier' feel.

It is made on a handloom by a women's cooperative in Central India. Close to five hundred women and their families are supported by the production of this fabric

All of the fabric that is available is all Fair Trade. Meaning that the artisans producing it are making a fair living wage and can support their families on that wage.
